We all love to eat well, which is why Yves and his team have been providing exceptional quality products and bilingual customer service to the New Liskeard area since opening in 2009. Our products have been carefully curated to provide you and your family with outstanding nutritional options, with loads of flavour and value! We endeavour to be responsive to client requests

We sell only top choice meats and provide our clients access to local meat, local grass-fed beef, organic beef, bison, lamb and poultry when available. Our market also sells local cheese, eggs, pastries, preserves, frozen meals, honey, maple syrup, smoked meats, organic flour, wild rice and other miscellaneous items! This helps to explain why we have been able to expand and grow our business.

 

Yves Himself

Yves started working at a grocery store as a teenager, bagging groceries, stocking shelves and taking home a $3.50 for every hour he worked. Curious, Yves asked the Butcher how much he was making: $12.50 an hour! What a jackpot. With this newly acquired information, he applied to the Butchery course being offered at the time in North Bay, which was a 20 week retail cutting program. Discovering his passion for butchery, Yves started an working at a packing plant, but soon after realized he missed working with customers. There was an opportunity at the newly opened grocery store in Ajax for a butcher – after working here for about a year, he decided to return home to New Liskeard where he was employed as a Junior Meat Clerk, being promoted to Meat Manager at the age of 23! For sixteen long years, Yves dreamt of opening his own shop, so he could showcase his creativity. In 2009, Yves made the jump to entrepreneur and opened Yves Prime Cut Meats and he hasn’t looked back since! Yves’ son Josh has been by his side since the beginning, starting as a cleanup and service clerk, and now serving customers as a full-time Meat Cutter and is involved in the day-to-day operations of the business.

In 2017, Yves was able to expand the business due to customer request, moving to a larger location and increasing his offerings. When asked when he will slow down or retire, Yves says NEVER! When you love what you do and love the people you work with, its not work!
